When it launched last year, Wal-Mart's DVD rental service boasted a library of 12,000-plus titles, roughly the same as at Netflix. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be many copies of each title; you'd almost always have to wait for films to become available. But things have gotten better: At least half of the titles we put on our queue were ready to ship (unlike FilmCaddy, Walmart.com tells you the availability and estimated waiting time of its inventory). But that still means you're often stuck with second- or maybe third-choice films. And many new and popular releases have long waiting lists.
